K 96 (L 465) in D-Dur, Allegrissimo. Die Einleitung klingt vertraut, auch sonst hat dieses 5 Minuten lange Stück alle Ingredienzien Scarlattischer Musik, für mich also einen hohen Wiedererkennungswert. "This splendid piece of work deserves its fame both for the variety of its themes and for the orchestral nature of the writing. It opens with the brass and the subsequent figures have a mandolin accompaniment. Each half has a polyphonic passage leading to a grand tutti closing.” (Begleitbuch zu Scarlatti The Sonatas Scott Ross, Erato Disques 1988,S.85).

Eine beliebte Sonate, liegt sie mir doch in Einspielungen von Horowitz, Soyeon Lee, Pletnev und Rövenstrunck vor. Am besten gefällt mir die Interpretation von Rövenstrunck, gefolgt von Soyeon Lee und Horowitz, wobei auch Pletnev sehr inspiriert spielt.
