Basil Bunting hat sein Gedicht Briggflatts (1966) nach Scarlattis Sonaten konzipiert:
For Briggflatts there is even in existence a drawing he made laying out the structure of the poem, and the drawing in turn emulates the sonata structure one encounters in Scarlatti. In fact, he was thinking of Scarlatti’s sonata in B minor, L.33, at least in the second part of the poem’s fourth movement. Actually, Scarlatti’s sonata L.204 would go between the first and second movements of the poem, L.25 between the second and third, L.275 between the third and fourth, and L.58 between the fourth and fifth movements.
